The Pennsylvania Ferret Club and Shelter (PFCS) is both a ferret club and a full-service ferret rescue and shelter organization headquartered in Limerick, PA. We provide rescue, shelter, and education about ferrets througout all of eastern Pennsylvania as well as bordering counties in New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware. The ferret club consists of dozens of members who all work together for the primary purpose of supporting the club’s two shelter branches. Equally important, the club also focuses on educating ferret owners, the general public, and others who come in contact with ferrets about the care and needs of the domestic ferret. The overall goal of the PFCS is to improve the quality of life for pet ferrets everywhere.
Our club members volunteer their time in a variety of ways to help us achieve our goals. Primarily, our club members assist in providing shelter to surrendered ferrets, hold many fundraisers and events to raise money to care for the ferrets in our shelter, and host and participate in educational days to teach the public about domestic ferrets.
The PFCS shelter system consists of f two full-service shelter branches as well as a network of foster homes that help with shelter overflow or special needs cases. Between our two shelter locations – Forget-Me-Not Ferret rescue in Enola, PA, and Little Rascals Ferret Rescue in Harleysville, PA – we provide shelter, medical care, and adoption services to hundreds of ferrets annually.
The PFCS is a very active organization that hosts and participates in many events throughout the year. Our biggest events are our semi-annual ferret shows,Ferret Fandango and Fall Fandango. Our club members also attend many other ferret shows across the United States every year. We hold numerous fundraising events, ferret awareness days, and participate in pet fairs and expos hosted by other organizations to educate the public about ferrets.
