Ferret Boarding
Going away on a vacation or taking a business trip? Concerned
about finding someplace to board your ferrets that will understand
the specific needs that ferrets require?
While many veterinary hospitals and pet boarding facilities
are willing to board ferrets, this is not necessarily the best
place for ferrets. Most multi-pet boarding facilities do not
have safe areas in which your ferret can get some runtime daily,
and likely, for the duration of his or her stay, your ferret
will have to remain in a cage. Furthermore, most multi-pet boarding
facilities are not specifically trained to understand the needs
of ferrets and may not notice if something is not quite right
with your ferret.
The Pennsylvania Ferret Club & Shelter offers short- and
long-term boarding for ferrets at our main shelter location
and also through club members who are screened and trained to
care for your ferrets. Ferrets are given daily runtime, are
fed the exact foods they receive at home, and are treated like
personal pets, rather than temporary visitors. If your ferret
receives daily medications, we can provide this as well on the
exact schedule that your ferret requires them. And the best
part: our rates are lower than most other boarding facilities
and veterinary hospitals.
Depending on your location, we also have some club members
who can provide in-house ferret care when you are away, visiting
your home one or two times daily to care for your ferrets. To
find out if you live in an area that we provide this service,
contact us.
For boarding services at one of our branch locations, please
contact us at least two weeks in advance
of your reservation (emergency boarding is available if space
permits) and we can provide a quote for you for boarding fees.
