RECENT ADOPTIONS

They've found a home! The following ferrets were recently adopted!

To see many more of the lucky ferrets that were recently adopted into wonderful homes,
please visit our Petfinder.org page and click the "Happy Tails" link!

Samson & Delilah
Samson is a light sable mutt around 2-3 years old. Delilah is a roan female also 2-3 years old.
These ferrets were rescued from the SPCA. Samson and Delilah had a third "sister" that was surrendered to the SPCA with them, but unfortunately, she was put down before we picked them up. These ferrets weren't handled very often and are looking for some extra attention and to be shown what love is! They're eating well and fattening up now that they're at the shelter and enjoying the attention they're being given! They get along with non-aggressive ferrets and wouldn't mind finding a home with some friendly ferrets to romp with. Samson & Delilah were adopted to a wonderful young woman who has since joined the PFCS, which we are thrilled about since we can get regular updates!

Dre
Dre is a 1 year old chocolate male from Marshall Farms. Dre and Snoop (below) were surrendered because the children that he belonged to were not taking care of them. Dre was purchased as a kit from a pet store. He is very playful, and loves to explore everything. He's an escape artist when out of his cage! He will cuddle for short periods of time but would rather play hide and seek. He gets along with other animals and is good with children. He gets along with other ferrets, but prefers to be a loner. Though he was surrendered with Snoop, Dre could be adopted to the right home by himself. Dre was adopted by a wonderful family who was waiting for the right time to add a ferret to their home, and he is loved immensely!

Izzy & Maleah - adopted together!
Izzy is a black sable male, estimated to be around one year of age. Izzy is very energetic, quite the spitfire. He loves to run and play hard... and then sleep hard! Izzy came to the shelter alone but has made a friend in Maleah. The two do not need to be adopted as a pair, but Maleah would like it that way :) Little Maleah is a tiny blaze female estimated at 3-4 years of age. This adorable little girl with a crooked tail was left outside a veterinary hospital to be rescued by someone. Maleah underwent adrenal surgery after coming to the PFCS and is doing very well now. She's not as energetic as the 'young kids' but she does love to scoot balls around when she's out. She's a picky eater, but loves Totally Ferret. Maleah hates most ferrets and will hiss at them, but she found a friend shortly after coming to the shelter: Izzy. Maleah is completely in love with Izzy and is thrilled that they were adopted together!!!

Snoop
Snoop is a chocolate male estimated to be about 5 years old. This poor ferret was found running down the center of a street in Lebanon by the owner of another ferret surrendered to the shelter (Dre). The children that Dre belonged to were not caring for Dre, and when the mother found Snoop, she decided to find a good home for both ferrets and placed them with the shelter. Snoop was not cared for well at all. He has adrenal disease, is missing a canine tooth, and is in deseprate need of lots of TLC. Despite the poor care he apparently received, upon arrival at the shelter, Snoop is active, very friendly, and loves Yogies (treats), tubes, and curling up in cuddle cups (small pet beds). He loves to cuddle and he is a lover! He plays well with children, cats, dogs, and other ferrets. This sweet boy has a terrific personality. Due to the physical shape he's in, Snoop is undergoing medical treatment and will have surgery while in the shelter. Snoop can be adopted separately from Dre to the right home.

Snowflake & Blizzard
These two ferrets are as close to twins as you can get! Both are 3 year old female albinos. They were surrendered by a pregnant owner whose husband insisted that the pair be given up. Both Blizzard (L) and Snowflake (R) are very petite, active, and friendly. They both crave attention and approval. They will play together on their own, but truly want a human to play with them. They like plastic and paper bags, Yogies treats, and cruncy treats. They are real sweethearts. Blizzard is the more mischevious of the two... likes to be an escape artist! Snowflake and Blizzard were adopted by a very enthusiastic couple who have since joined the PFCS as club members... and as we hear quite often, these ferrets are very much loved, and very much spoiled!

Rocket
Rocket is a 6 year old sable female from Marshall Farms. Rocket is a special needs ferret that is looking for a home to give her lots of TLC. She's not very active, and has sores on her body that seem to cause pain at times. Since coming to the shelter, she has gained weight and otherwise does seem happy. She tends to walk around searching for the best place to sleep rather than the best thing to play with. She's a very laid-back ferret who loves to give kisses and snuggle in anything soft. She has made quite the friend in the shelter co-director's daughter, Shy, and at bedtime, Rocket curls up under the covers with Shy and stays with her until she falls asleep. A very sweet ferret. Due to Rocket's fragile needs and very special bond with Shy, Rocket was adopted by our shelter director.

Cocoa
Cocoa is a six month old female ferret whose owner needed to surrender because she was moving. Cocoa is one feisty, happy, extremely active little girl!

Cocoa was only in the shelter for 22 hours before she was adopted into a home to be a 5 month old ferret's very best friend. Awwww!

Willie & Rocco
Willie and Rocco must be adopted as a pair. Willie (pictured left) is a blaze male approximately three years old. Rocco (pictured right) is a sable point male, under two years of age. This pair was surrendered because their owner went off to college and could not take them along. Willie is deaf but otherwise is a perfectly healthy ferret. He's very playful and loves to dook. Rocco is a very handsome big boy. Like Willie, Rocco has lots of energy, is very playful, and loves to run through tunnels and tubes.

Zak & Mittens
Zak and Mittens are brothers who must be adopted together. They are both males, 3-4 years of age. Zak is a black sable, and mittens is a chocolate. These ferrets were surrendered because the owner's girlfriend hated them. Zak was handled with a metal glove (!!) so he's not very comfortable being held for long. We were told that he was a biter, but since arriving at the shelter, he's been just fine. He's picky about meeting new friends, but he does come around to others with time. Mittens is a spunky good boy, a pleasure to be around. He likes to play hide and seek in closets!
