REQUEST TO SURRENDER

We understand that the decision to surrender your ferret(s) is a difficult decision. If you have found that surrender is the right decision for you, please fill out the following form and press "submit." We will contact you within 48 hours for more information and to arrange a time to meet. If you have any questions about our policies, procedure, or have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Important: We only accept surrenders from eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and select counties in Delaware and Maryland. To see a complete list of the counties in these states we serve, view our footprint. If you do not live in this area, and are in need of a shelter, please visit the American Ferret Association website for a list of shelters closer to you.

This form is somewhat detailed in the information we are asking you to provide. It is VERY important that we have the following information so we can make sure the transition from your home to our shelter is as stress-free for your ferret(s) as possible. Please do not "guess" at answers or provide information that you think we want to hear. "Shelter shock" is common in ferrets (and can be life-threatening) when sudden changes are made to a ferret's environment. Age, diet, and routines play an extremely important role in which ferrets handle the transition to a shelter better than others. If we have detailed information about your ferrets, we can adapt their situation to best match their needs. Please take the extra few minutes to provide detailed, accurate information here!
